Monday, August 10th, 2020: Speak softly and carry a big stick and you could win the Florida State League Player of the Week Award just like Sixto Cazaldilla.
He really dazzled on the diamond this week with a .526 average to take home the trophy. The St. Lucie catcher went 10-19, drove in 11 runs, scored 7 times and hit 2 home runs.
Cazaldilla is hitting .382 so far this season with 36 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 39 hits including 7 home runs, 14 walks and .462 OBP. |
 | Escalante Sidelined for 6-7 Months
Thursday, August 6th, 2020: It was announced today in Tampa that Yankees starting pitcher Ricardo Escalante will be on the mend for 6-7 months because of a fractured elbow he sustained in a recent game against the Dunedin Blue Jays. Escalante was injured throwing a pitch.

 | Cloutier's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games
Thursday, August 6th, 2020: Daytona's 22-year-old catcher Roméo Cloutier has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today Cloutier extended the streak by going 3-4 against Devil Rays pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. Cloutier always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Cubs 7-0 triumph over Vero Beach at Ballpark of Daytona he downplayed his part in the victory.
Roméo Cloutier walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season Cloutier is hitting .384 with 1 home run. |
