Monday, August 10th, 2020: It was announced today that Tulsa first baseman Ángel Sánchez was selected the Texas League Player of the Week Award for his superb play last week.
During the week he compiled a .364 batting average (12-33) with 5 home runs, 14 RBI and scored 7 runs.
Sánchez is currently batting .289 with 23 home runs, 73 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has 97 hits in 336 at-bats. |
 | Rough Riders Trujillo and Missions López Suspended for Fight
Friday, August 7th, 2020: Mauro Trujillo of Frisco and José López of San Antonio have been sanctioned by the league office for causing the ruckus at Whitewings Ballpark yesterday. Both players have been given 9-game suspensions for instigating the fight and subsequent free-for-all.
This season Trujillo is hitting .216 with no home runs.
Season-to-date, López has rung up 1 save in 41 relief appearances. He has 42 strikeouts and 30 walks in 59.2 innings while registering a 3.92 ERA and a 3-3 won-lost record. |

Thursday, August 6th, 2020: An efficient outing for Rubén González usually means a win for Midland. Today was no exception, as the 27-year-old starter held Frisco to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 6 and gave up 4 hits in the 2-0 shutout.
For this year González has chalked up 2 wins and 4 losses in 8 starts with 35 strikeouts in 51.2 innings and a 4.70 ERA. |
